Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association History Brief

Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association (JMIAA) Riyadh Chapter is a non-political body of the ex- students of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) working presently in Riyadh Region. It was founded in Riyadh on 30 May 2006 by a group of ex-Jamia students working in Riyadh, to bring together all ex-Jamiaets who are residents of Riyadh to form a society of a social & welfare character. The fundamental factors leading to the formation of this Association are as follows:

  • Presence of significant number of ex-Jamiaites in the region, yet are unaware of each other;
  • Need for a common platform to facilitate and encourage networking among the Jamiaets;
  • Opportunity to benefit from the organized strength to deal with the vicissitudes of expatriate life.
  • Help newcomers settle down by providing needed practical support;
  • Endeavor to take welfare initiatives for the student community associated with Jamia Millia Islamia;
  • Internationalizing Jamia’s name & fame, and assisting ex- Jamiaets in other countries, especially in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to float JMIAA regional chapters.
